Summer adventure series: The fair

One of our absolute favorite summer activities is The San Diego Fair. It's only here from the beginning of june - the beginning of july but we look forward to it every year. Greg and I go for the food and the little ones go for the rides. Everyone is happy.

Summer Adventure Series: The San Diego Zoo

The big kids are ALMOST done with this school year. I usually have mixed feelings towards summer break, since for stay at home moms, summer break is in fact not a break at all. Quite the opposite actually. Last summer I feel like Em and Hud missed out on a proper summer experience with me being super pregnant for the first half and adjusting to the whole having a newborn/three kids situation for the second half and so I promised myself I would make it up to them this summer. That being said we aren't planning any big trips, we are just going to fully enjoy our city and all it has to offer with plenty of adventures. Our summer adventures series started yesterday at the zoo. When you live in San Diego, it just makes sense to have zoo passes. We find ourselves there quite a bit throughout the year and it always makes for a quality family day. Yesterday's favorites included the reptile exhibit, aviary, flamingos and the petting zoo. They loooove being able to pet the animals...minus Hattie, she thought the goats were terrifying. 

If you find yourself in San Diego, the zoo needs to be at the top of your to-do list!

memorial day weekend

Holidays are always more fun when cousins are in town! Memorial Day weekend was spent Attending BBQ's, pool parties and spending quality time with some of our favorites! plus, give us ANY excuse to rock red, white and blue!

Freshly Picked

Our love for Freshly Picked moccasins began before Hattie was born. Even before we knew for sure whether we would have another baby or not. My husband was the one who wanted one more tiny human and I was still on the fence, but knew deep down that eventually I would feel the same way he did. We happened to be in orange county during a Freshly Picked warehouse sale and I talked Greg into buying a pair to tuck away "just in case" The variety of colors and the quality totally won me over. They were like butter and I had to have a pair for my future maybe baby. Six months later I found out I was pregnant and one of the first things I bought was of course another pair of Freshly Picked moccasins, this time in size 0. The cutest ever. My sweet Hattie girl has been wearing FP since day one and will continue to every step of the way. we love Freshly Picked!

Dock Grand

Now that we have a big 9 month old, it was time to upgrade to the Dock-A-Tot Grand. I had high hopes that the transition would be a good one and let me tell you, the grand did not let us down. Miss Hattie has more room to stretch out and it still fits like a dream in her crib! We use it all over our house. Out of all the baby products we've gone through in our 7.5 years of doing this whole baby thing the Dock-A-Tot remains my number one recommendation. It gets used multiple times daily and we love it.
